With a heart for kids and tiny heroes with special needs, Dr. Chun’s passion is to provide quality, positive dental experiences for every child he treats.
Dr. Chun received his Bachelors of Science in Biology at University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) with Magna Cum Laude. He then completed his dental education at UNLV’s School of Dental Medicine, graduating top 2 of his class with Magna Cum Laude. Dr. Chun went on to complete a 2 year pediatric dental residency program at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. While in residency, he had extensive training in treating diverse populations of children with special needs and compromising conditions. He was awarded the Richard C. Pugh Award by American Board of Pediatric Dentistry for scoring top 3 percent on the qualifying examination out of all graduating pediatric residents in the nation. Dr. Chun also received specialized training in advanced behavior management techniques, such as oral conscious sedation and hospital dentistry.
As a native of Hong Kong, Dr. Chun is also fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin! When he’s not treating patients, you can find Dr. Chun playing tennis, catching up on his favorite shows, traveling, and exploring Texas’ food scene with Dr. Julia.
Dr. Julia grew up in Westfield, Massachusetts. She graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. She then attended the University of New England College of Dental Medicine for her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. During dental school, Dr. Julia was involved with various school outreach programs where she taught underserved children about oral health care. She also volunteered at head start programs where she taught young kids how to read. As her passion for helping children continued to grow, she decided to become a pediatric dentist.
After dental school, she received specialized training in pediatric dentistry at the Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. During her training, she learned many advanced pediatric dental techniques and treatment options, such as oral conscious sedation and general anesthesia. Her goal is to provide comprehensive treatment to children of all backgrounds in the safest and most comfortable dental environment possible.
Dr. Julia enjoys residing in and being part of the Houston community. Outside of work, she fills her days trying new restaurants with Dr. Chun, traveling, and staying active on the tennis court.
